Young British sprinter Dan McLay is poised to make the jump up to the WorldTour by joining EF Education First-Drapac, currently known as Cannondale-Drapac.
The 25-year-old will move from Pro-Continental French side Fortuneo-Oscaro to the American-based team for the 2018 season.
This comes only a day after McLay bagged his second victory of the season, sprinting to the win at the Tour de l'Eurometropole.
McLay is known for his ability to negotiate tight bunch finishes, most noticeably at last season's GP de Denain, where the Brit managed to weave his way to the victory in the final few hundred metres.
Signing for a WorldTour team, McLay will be hoping to build upon the success he experienced at the 2016 Tour de France.
Taking part in his debut Grand Tour after Fortuneo-Oscaro were granted a Wild Card place by the Tour organisers, McLay took four top-ten stage finishes including third on Stage 6 into Montauban behind Mark Cavendish (Dimension Data) and Marcel Kittel (Quick-Step Floors).
Speaking on the annoucement of the move, McLay underlined his excitement at joining the WorldTour and being given the chance to realise the potential he's shown as a young rider.
'I’m really happy to step up to the WorldTour, and I think this is the perfect team for me as I make that move to the top level.' said McLay.
'This is a crucial moment in my career. I’m getting to the age where I’m no longer considered a young and developing rider. It’s time for me to perform before the grey hairs start to appear.'
Besides sprinting, the Brit also spoke about developing his riding into new areas including the Spring Classics, looking to learn from new teammate Sep Vanmarcke.
McLay becomes the second sprinter in a week to join Jonathan Vaughters and Slipstream Sports after the signing of Sacha Modolo from UAE Team Emirates.
