If we were not already excited enough for the Spring Classics campaign, this latest video from the team at Specialized has almost tipped us over that cobbled edge with its latest video on tubular tyres.
We are taken in to the dark and mysterious world of Belgian mechanic Kurt Roose, 22-years in to his cycling career with 20 Paris-Roubaix races under his belt.
After 17 years with the Quick-Step Floors team, Roose has become a master of gluing and preparing tubular wheels and tyres for his team.
In his own words 'gluing tubular tyres on is a passion' hence why the greatest Classics team in history trusts him to prepare this vital component.
Like a true master, his method is perfected and his execution flawless with the experienced Roose making this often-complex task look as easy as tying a shoelace.
This is made all the more impressive as he prepares all his tyres in a darkened room, a process Roose learned from his father.
In this insight into the professional mechanic, Roose tells the viewer that for Paris-Roubaix - cycling's most demanding day - he uses the rim tape traditionally reserved for cyclocross to offer added safety and security over the hellish cobbles.
As any good mechanic worth their weight in gold would suggest, Roose is also of the opinion that he knows the perfect tyre pressure to run tubular tyres at stating, 'It is different rider to rider but I think I have the perfect pressure in my head.'
Even those who harness no interest in the technical side of cycling are hanging off of every word as Roose perfectly uses some of cycling's most weathered cliches in the most natural dialect of Flemish.
