Ballot registration for the 2019 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is now open. The event will take place on Sunday 3rd August with the full festival of cycling taking place across the entire weekend.
The ballot will remain open until it hits 80,000 registrations or until the 4th January 2019, whichever comes sooner. Ballot registration for the shorter 46 and 19-mile events will open in the new year.
If successful in the ballot scheme, all UK participants will be charged a £69.00 entry fee. Registration for the event and more information can be found at the Prudential RideLondon website.
If unsuccessful, many charities hold places for riders on the promise of a minimum donation.
The exact route has yet to be announced but is expected to remain unchanged from this year's edition.
Starting in the Olympic Park, Stratford, riders are taken across the centre of London through to Richmond Park. Heading south out of the city, the Surrey climbs of Newlands Corner, Leith Hill and Box Hill represent the day's challenges.
The sportive then heads back through the London suburbs until hitting the city centre with riders finishing on the Mall, in front of Buckingham Palace.
The event first took place in 2013 with 16,000 participants riding the RideLondon-Surrey 100. As of the 2018 event, 26,720 riders completed the 100 as well as the additional 46 and 19-mile sportives.
They formed part of over 100,000 people that took part in the seven events hosted across the weekend.
Event director Hugh Brasher commented on the ballot opening, mentioning the millions of pounds raised for charity since 2013.
'The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is now the most popular sportive in the world with more people applying to ride this event than any other ride on the international calendar,' said Brasher.
'More than 125,000 riders have crossed the famous finish line on The Mall since the event began in 2013, raising tens of millions of pounds for charity on the way.'
