The team will first wear the new jersey at the Tour de Yorkshire, starting tomorrow

Team Ineos have unveiled their much-anticipated kit ahead of the team's launch at the Tour de Yorkshire starting tomorrow. For the first time in the British WorldTour team's history, the likes of Geraint Thomas and Chris Froome will change from the usual mix of sky blue and black and instead be kitted out in red and black.

The kit, still made by Italian manufacturers Castelli, retains the colour fade that was introduced at the beginning of the season but the navy has been replaced by a burgundy red.

The design remains simple with just the sole chest sponsor of Ineos, replacing the outgoing Sky, plus two Ineos logos on each shoulder.

For the design geeks among you, the new primary sponsor's logo design may be slightly offputting considering its use of three fonts, similar to a primary school child experimenting with Microsoft Word for the first time.

Pinarello has also announced the launch of new F12 and F12 Disk models which look to be in a similar red and black colour scheme.

The team has already transitioned to the new petrochemical sponsor at the ongoing Tour de Romandie in Switzerland, albeit in a one-off temporary black jersey.

The team's official launch will take place at Stage 1 of the Tour de Yorkshire in Doncaster on Thursday 2nd May with the likes of Froome, Owain Doull and Ian Stannard all on the start line.
