The newest video from the Scottish trial rider is as amazing as ever

I went to the gym this morning, it was packed. Lots of people getting stuck into their New Year's resolutions, huffing and puffing on the treadmills, looking like they might self-combust trying to do a chin-up.

While I was trying not to be sick during a HIIT session on the Wattbike, I saw a personal trainer barking at a new client that they were 'on the path to a better you'. I can't knock them, at least they're trying. Trying to better themselves.

But slaving away in the gym isn't for all of us and as trials bike legend Danny MacAskill proves in his latest video, it's not for him either.

Called 'Gymnasium', MacAskill gives a light poke to the ribs to all those panicked New Year gym goers before laying down some of his trademark moves in his own 'gym', the humble sports hall.

Using anything he can get his hands on, from pommel horses to medicine balls, the Scot jumps and bumps his way around in a fashion that'll make you sit back and go 'blimey, how did he do that?'

One trick we are particularly trying to get our head around when he rides an elliptical machine backwards. How? He is honestly the viral gift that keeps giving.

MacAskill's new video is also a good excuse to remind yourself of the soothing melodies of Scotland's favourite bespectacled twins, The Proclaimers, who provide the soundtrack.

Anyway, just watch the video, it'll make your day better.
