Newly launched corporate events agency One Pro Sports Events, which is headed by former England cricketer Matt Prior, has released further details of its flagship event 'The 21'. The ride will take place between 26th June and 18th July, one day ahead of each Tour de France stage.
The 21 will provide amateur riders the opportunity to ride part or all of the toughest cycling route in the world, the Tour de France.
Riders can choose to ride between three and 21 stages as the full route is split into three-day blocks. These will be ridden by a combination of corporate groups and individuals, as well as full time riders taking on the entirety of the gruelling challenge, one day ahead of the professionals.
The 2020 Tour de France's 21 stage route includes eight mountain finishes, gravel roads and a return to the famed ascent of Planche des Belle Filles for a 36km time-trial on the penultimate day.
The crowds are likely to gather on the key climbs well in advance of the pro stages, so there will be plenty of support – and heckling – for the riders of The 21 grinding their way up the climbs 24 hours before the likes of Tom Dumoulin and Geraint Thomas.
The 21 has a limited number of places available to individuals and corporate groups. Anyone interested should get in touch at the21.co.uk or email becky@oneprosportsevents.com. Entries close at the end of February.
