Alexander Kristoff took his second stage victory at the Tour of Oman today, outsprinting Sonny Colbrelli and Greg Van Avermaet.
10 riders broke away initially, but never gained an advantage of more than two minutes. On the finishing circuits, which incorporated the Busher Al Amerat climb, the breakaway whittled down and was eventually caught, before counter-attacks by Stefan Kueng, Jakob Fuglsang and Matthias Frank went clear.
In the end it all came back together though, and it was once again Kristoff who proved the fastest after having also won stage one.
Kristoff takes back the green sprinter's jersey, while Ben Hermans retains the overall race lead. Tomorrow's queen stage to Jebel Akhdar could provide some movement in the GC, however.
